This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use this website or submit an enquiry.
Information we collect
The enquiry form is for trade business owners. It is on the contact page and the get-leads page. The form collects:
- Name
- Mobile phone number
- Email address
- Trade
- Service area (a suburb, postcode or region)
- Business name, if you provide it
- Business size, if you provide it: Sole trader, 2-5, 6-15, or 16+
- Years trading, if you provide it: Under 1 year, 1-3 years, 3-10 years, or 10+ years
- Current monthly marketing spend, if you provide it: None yet, Under A$500/mo, A$500-1,500/mo, A$1,500-3,000/mo, or A$3,000+/mo
- When you would like to start, if you provide it: Now, 1-3 months, or Just researching
The contact page form also has an optional message. The shorter form on the get-leads page does not show that field.
With the submission we record the page it was sent from. If the link you arrived on included them, we also record advertising click identifiers (gclid, gbraid or wbraid) and campaign parameters (utm source, medium, campaign, term and content).
We store a salted hash of the IP address so we can limit repeated submissions. We do not store the raw IP address with the enquiry. We do store the browser user agent sent with the submission. The IP address is sent to Cloudflare with the Turnstile check described below.
On the live site only (tradiecode.com.au and www.tradiecode.com.au), Google Analytics and Google Ads tags may collect cookies and similar identifiers. Those tags are not loaded on preview or local copies of the site.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your enquiry
- Contact you about the enquiry
- Check availability for the service area named on the form
- Measure whether ads lead to enquiries, on the live site
- Understand how visitors use the live site, and improve the website
- Comply with our legal obligations
How enquiries are handled
We store enquiry records in our Supabase database.
We send enquiry notifications by email through Resend, a provider based in the United States. Personal information in those notifications may be disclosed to Resend and stored overseas, in the United States. This is an overseas disclosure for the purpose of Australian Privacy Principle 8.
Cloudflare Turnstile checks the form for spam and bots. A submission that does not pass that check is not stored.
Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to respond to and manage your enquiry and to meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information to unrelated third parties.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, misuse, loss or disclosure. This includes using trusted platforms, access controls and secure data handling practices.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
Third party services
We use these providers to operate the website and handle enquiries. They may process personal information for that purpose:
- Supabase, which stores enquiry records
- Resend, in the United States, which delivers enquiry notification emails
- Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks the form for spam and bots
- Google Analytics and Google Ads, on the live site only
- Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces on these pages
This website runs on Cloudflare.
Some of our other providers may process or store information outside Australia. They are Google Analytics, Google Ads, Cloudflare (including Turnstile), Google Fonts, and our database host, Supabase.
Where possible, we choose providers with strong privacy and security standards and only share the information necessary for them to perform their service.
Cookies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to measure website performance, understand how visitors use our site, and improve our advertising.
On tradiecode.com.au and www.tradiecode.com.au, the site loads Google Analytics and Google Ads. Google Ads conversion measurement records whether an advertisement led to an enquiry. Those events do not include a name, phone number or email address, and enhanced conversions are turned off. The same tags are not loaded on any other host.
If the link you arrived on included an ad click identifier or campaign parameters, the site keeps them in browser storage for 90 days and includes them with an enquiry you submit.
You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Please note that some features of the website may not work as expected if cookies are disabled.
Access & correction
You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or update it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
